| This cute little fellow may look like a small deer, but in reality is a bizarely cute Dik-Dik. A photograph cannot do justice to the effect of its proboscis nose, which is extremely flexible and seemed to be constantly moving from side to side, at times nearly a right angles to the head! Dik-Diks get their name from the sound they make when they are startled ... hunters don't like them because their distinctive cry warns the other animals away. Hooray for the Dik-Diks! |
