| Dik-Diks are shy little creatures of the antelope family, and the genus Madoqua. They are cuddly looking and when you meet one you want to bring it home, or at least feed it carrots. That might not be such a good idea though, because according to Parker (1990) kid-diks require vegetation that is easily digested and low in fiber. About eighty percent of their diet comes from the leaves of trees and shrubs, another 17 percent from grasses, and the rest from herbs and sedges. Skip the carrot, give your Dik-Dik a handful of leaves and grass. |
